TREKKING OUTSIDE THE CITY WALLS

Our Middle-Ages villages were all fortified and based on very tall hills for defensive reasons and for surveying the valleys down below as well as  the ancient merchant routes. With the trekking we have especially created, the visit to these places will be even more fascinating. We will discover those less well known corners; old, abandoned palaces; forgotten Medieval doors or ancient fountains hidden by vegetation.

Around the walls of Montalcino

The city trekking of Montalcino goes around Middle Ages walls and along ancient ,enclosed vineyards while the visitor’s gaze sweeps over an incredible green valley. During this stroll we find a beautiful church dating back to the XIIIth century and walk under an antique gate to go to the St. Francis’. Then down to the old fountains going through the ancient olive –growes within the walls we reach the Medieval castle.
