Guided Tour + Admission fee to the museum of the Old Hospital Santa Maria della Scala

This tour is made to discover the most secret places in Siena following the traces left here by pilgrims, wayfarers, artists, and saints for one thousand years. This is the only way to see hidden fountains, ancient castles and towers, or unknown churches still rich in forgotten masterpieces. A fascinating itinerary that ends with the millenary Old Hospital Santa Maria della Scala where beautiful frescoes and evocative dungeons are to be found.

 

Every tour starts from the Tourist Board Office in Piazza del Campo at 11:00am

Available every day of the week at 11:00am - granted departure - advanced reservations are not necessary. No waiting lines in museums and tickets are valid for one year.

Ideal for newcomers to Siena, this tour touches all the historical and cultural landmarks of the town. From the world-wide famous Piazza del Campo where the Palio horse race takes place, to the historical building of the Monte dei Paschi bank, to the Tolomei palace or the Chigi Saracini one- now a Music Academy. Not to mention the church of San Domenico or the Cathedral where Michelangelo, Bernini, Donatello and Giovanni Pisano left the masterpieces.

This tour is made to give visitors the opportunity of seeing this Middle Ages Tuscan gem city through its history, art and local flavours. The visitors cross its main streets as well as the tiny, little alleyways normally hidden to crowds to end the visit with the Collegiata church and its wonderful XIV c. cycle of frescoes, and the chapel  of Saint Fina painted by Ghirlandaio

This tour is made to give the visitors the opportunity of seeing this Middle Ages Tuscan gem city through its history, art, and local flavours. The visitors cross its main streets as well as the tiny, little alleyways normally hidden to crowds to end the visit with the Town Hall and its Art Gallery. The climbing of the Great Tower is a breathtaking view over the surrounding countryside.
